GENERAL MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Report directly to the Producer; advise Producer on strategic goals and implementation plans. Execute business plan as directed by the Producer.

Participate in hiring of all staff, creative team and cast members. Create contracts based on provided templates, negotiate contracts based on Producers outline and direction.

Manage operating and production budget; oversee production management operations; ensure production stays within the estimated budget.

Coordinate with venue for ticketing needs obtaining approval on ticket pricing and other key decisions from Producer.

Monitor box office sales and prepare reports for the Producer.

Supervise a team of administrative and production support staff including box office personnel, front of house manager and staff, production manager, marketing and development staff.

Organize and run operational and strategic meetings; attend creative and production meetings as necessary.

Organize documentation throughout the creative, rehearsal and production process. Obtain and organize reports from the box office, marketing strategy, production and front of house teams.

Maintain proper books and reporting functions, prepare reports for Producer.

Provide full report of all administrative, accounting and production elements after the close. 


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

At least three years previous experience managing theatrical events, including budget oversight and contract negotiation.

Experience with marketing strategy and execution.

Self motivated and strong team player.

Ability to work flexible hours, nights and weekends occasionally required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel. Experience with Quickbooks, Squarespace, Mailchimp, DropBox, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop a plus.

production manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Report directly to the General Manager.

Advances and coordinates production aspects of the process.

Provides an advanced level of expertise in all aspects of technical theatre production including but not limited to lighting, audio, and scenic elements.

Aids the Producer in the hiring process for design and production team. Works with Technical Director and Design Team to ensure proper staffing of all crew members.

Aids the General Manager in collecting payment information for all production, design and crew. Submits invoices for payment to General Manager.

Ensures the production of clean and presentable floor plans, layouts and light plots.

Manages production budget for crew and rentals, and provide advice toward producing a state of the art event, submits all budget work to the General Manager.

Negotiates for and procures production equipment and services.

Establishes and maintains relationships with production vendors and service providers.

Manages the production team in a manner that reflects the highest standards of respect, and professionalism.

Helps formulate policies relating to production services and implements those policies.

Demonstrates a talent for amicable problem solving and conflict resolution.

Attends regular operational  meetings with General Manager and Producer as necessary.

Schedules and runs production meetings, facilitates clear and consistent communications between the Director and design/production team.

Schedules and manages the production build process.

Other duties as assigned by the General Manager and Producer.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate degree related to Theatrical Production from an accredited institution.

At least two years relevant experience in theatrical production process in a management role.

Extensive knowledge of all aspects of production technology, including demonstrable expertise in either sound reinforcement or performance lighting.

Training or experience with Microsoft Office suite.

Good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent people skills.

A passion for the performing arts and the ability to provide excellence in their production.

Ability to self-direct and manage a high number of competing priorities simultaneously, with impeccable attention to detail and the ability to adhere to established and non-flexible deadlines for project completion.

ProducING Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION

Report directly to the Producer.

Understand the business strategy and assist Producer in execution.

Work with Producer to identify and build relationships with potential partners, sponsors, donors and third party vendors.

Communicate on behalf of the Producer between creative and production teams.

Work with the General Manager to assist with administrative tasks as needed.

Attend all rehearsals, production meetings and creative development meetings as requested by Producer.

Act as sounding board for Producer to test new ideas.

In conjunction with Producer, General Manager and Production Manager, determine and aide in the execution of project timeline.

Create copy for marketing and development materials.

Create and segments lists for internal and external communications, keep organizational and production archival inventory, assist with administrative tasks for long term organizational goals.

Perform other duties as requested by Producer.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

At least two years relevant experience in a live theatrical production setting. 

Strong written and communication skills.

Commitment to creating high-quality artistic events. 

Strong organizational skills with an acute attention to detail. 

Must be flexible and comfortable with a fast paced environment and have strong interpersonal skills. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel. Experience with Quickbooks, Squarespace, Mailchimp, DropBox, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop a plus.

set designer

job description

Reports directly to the Production Manager.

Conceive of, create, and craft the set and aesthetic experience of the theater in service to the vision of the Director.

Sketch out set plans, using hand-rendering or computer software.

Participate in the creative team conversations, understanding that the narrative arc of the production is devised and contingent upon many moving pieces. 

Attend production meetings and rehearsals as necessary. Communicate thoughts, concerns, ideas, solutions and budgetary items to the Production Manager, Director and Producer as necessary.

Order materials for production of set, working in tandem with the Production Manager and the Technical Director.

Oversee building of set, working alongside construction workers and assistants.

Research architectural styles and previous sets for inspiration.

When applicable, select the the furniture, wall coverings, floor coverings, and work with Props Designer to select large props to be used in set.

Produce scale models for director to approve.

Make changes to set as necessary.

Provide estimations on how much set will cost to build.

Help builders adhere to budget.

Analyze stage entrances and exits to ensure set is situated properly.

Demonstrate set abilities to crew members, including actors.

Work with Production Manager to ensure the set is properly broken down and disposed of after use. 


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Must have at least three years relevant experience in a live theatrical production setting. 

Strong written and communication skills.

Commitment to creating high-quality artistic events. 

Must be able to articulate abstract concepts. 

Must be capable of advanced carpentry and set build.

Must be flexible and comfortable with a fast paced environment and have strong interpersonal skills.
